51.29 Meters Installed by Auburn

All electrical usage will be measured by standard meters installed by Auburn in accordance with applicable rules. Meters and related equipment remain Auburn’s property. Customers are responsible for repair or replacement costs if equipment is damaged or tampered with due to negligence or misuse.

Tampering with metering equipment seals may result in penalties. Property owners may be fined $275 for a first offense, $500 for a second offense, and service disconnection for a third offense. Licensed electricians who tamper with seals without proper notice may face the same fines and risk license revocation for a third offense.
